Take a journey with me deep into Middle Earth, and encounter Isengard, Amon Hen, Lothlorien Forest, The Misty Mountains and Ithilien! We will be visiting these locations as we travel from scenic Queenstown, Glenorchy and Paradise, including filming locations from The Hobbit, Wolverine, Chronicles of Narnia. Stories and secrets will be shared by a local with great insight and knowledge into the filming of these movies and also the local areas' rich history and Maori culture. You will experience some of the world’s most spectacular scenery in Mt Aspiring World Heritage Park and along one of the Worlds' most scenic highway, the Glenorchy Road. You will come away with the most breathtaking scenic photos and magical memories. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee and tea, with a light Kiwi style picnic. Take the opportunity to dress up in our Lord of the Rings Costumes, and have a photo shoot with our replica swords in Lothlorien forest. Other things to note: - Tours depart on time so - Please allow yourself enough time to find a carpark (if driving) and getting yourself to the meeting place: 43 CAMP street, Outside the Marmalada Cafe. - Parking can be found at Boundary street for $2 per hour, and on Man street for $4 p/h.

We will set off for the heart of Gibbston on a small group half-day tour to visit three cellar doors and journey into the ‘valley of the vines’ to discover these vineyards nestled amongst the spectacular mountain ranges and dramatic river gorges. At the last winery, we will savour a cheeseboard to pair with the wines. We will visit boutique wineries that are off the beaten path. There is no set routine, so every day is an adventure. The choice of the wineries visited will vary each day based on your individual group's dynamics. The overall focus is on high-quality wines and friendly and informative staff. As I am also passionate about photography, I will take photos of the whole experience and will send you all the images by email after the tour, at no additional cost. I offer the tours in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Other things to note A minimum of 3 people is required for this activity to take place. We depart Queenstown where you will be picked up from your accommodation in the WanaHaka® vehicle from 10:30- 11:00am with the Māori greeting the Hongi establishing the connection with you the guest and the Māori people of New Zealand and the land, then with a 15 minute drive to Gibbston and Lake Hayes where a selection of Pinot Noir, Gris, Sav Blanc and more will be in tasting. The first winery being Mora near Arrowtown, following that we drive via the Gold Rush historic area of Arrowtown and venture a quick stop into the Kawarau bridge where the famous Kawarau AJ Hackett Bungy resides, we then visit the Mt Rosa winery with more beautiful wines and a cheese platter. Moving slowly but surely onto either Wet Jacket or Amsfield before our drive back to Queenstown. Along this tour you will get an insight into the Māori footprint and history from many hundreds of years ago of the beautiful Otago and Queenstown region. Your experience at Five Gates Farm gives you the opportunity to relax and unwind in a beautiful coastal setting with stunning views of Mount Arthur and the Kahurangi mountain range. You will learn how we manage our 6 acre small holding to grow sustainable produce, our cut flower garden and care for our animals. Learn the history of our 1890's homestead and how the land has been farmed for generations since the early pioneering days in Aotearoa. Get up close and personal to hand-feed our herd of alpacas in their paddocks, spending time to get to know these amazing animals and learn all about their history, habits and how each of them have their own unique and quirky personalities. On arrival you'll be welcomed by Julie and Paul your hosts and owners of Five Gates Farm, have a safety briefing, then meet the herd. There's some great photo opportunities with stunning views in the background. A tour of the farm will include meeting all the animals at the farm and playing with our three beagles Oscar, Henry and Sam. The experience ends with a soft drink and delicious home-baking from the farm kitchen.

Experience a jam packed full day of wine tastings, vineyards and wineries in Arrowtown, Gibbston Valley, Cromwell and Bannockburn. Wander the vines and go behind the scenes of some exclusive boutique wineries as I share my passion for how grapes are grown and how wine is made in this in-depth experience. A gourmet lunch is provided in a quaint bistro in the Gibbston Valley (to be paid separately), enjoy great food as you sample local wines. Followed by some very special winery and cellar door tastings. You will get to try over 25 different Central Otago wines during the day. To provide a truly unique and personalized experience I limit my tour to a maximum of 4 people. Operating since the launch of AirBnB Experiences in New Zealand, and only within this domain I promise you an experience like no other. We'll meet you at our front gate and escort you along our tree-lined driveway to begin the tour. You'll experience our scenic, 32-acre, off grid, organic and Biodynamic farm-let/accommodation, set in the hill country and native bush of Golden Bay. Meet our very friendly herd of 14 alpacas. We'll take a 20 minute walk & feed & interact with these peaceful and graceful animals. A highlight is when we take the alpacas for a swim. During our walk it's guaranteed you'll also meet our ducks, chickens & our Tibetan Spaniel. 40-60 minutes. We’re happy to show guests how we survive living completely off grid (in comfort) without any access to town water or mains electricity. This will include a short, picturesque walk through pristine native bush, a tour of our vegetable garden & orchard plus an alpaca fleece spinning demonstration. A tour of our unique accommodation options (including a 1952 Bedford house truck) will be available depending on occupancy. We'll also be glad to detail our blueprint to biodiversity which prevents us needing to use harmful chemicals or heavy machinery. 20-40 minutes. Other things to note: Phone reception can be patchy near us due to the hills so it's best to read directions carefully. 'Spark/Skinny' customers are usually fine. When dealing with animals, plans are always subject to change depending on the co-operation of the alpacas on the day.

We'll meet in front of Vogel Street Kitchen (76 Vogel Street). After introductions and a short health and safety briefing, I'll provide some historical context, then lead you on a walk through Dunedin's warehouse precinct. The focus will be on the sensitive redevelopment that has recently transformed this neighbourhood. We'll move through some very funky public, semi-public and private spaces, and hear the backstories of several repurposed buildings. We may even meet some neighbourhood heroes. Other things to note: We must take precautions to limit the spread of COVID19. There is currently no requirement to mask up on the walk, but masks are provided and those who wish to wear them are encouraged to do so. We should maintain a little space from others we meet on the walk, especially in indoor settings. We will always respect New Zealand government advisories on COVID19 or similar challenges.

Join me as start by taking one of the most beautiful road journeys in New Zealand to the Western end of Lake Wakatipu where the stunning backdrop of Mt Aspiring National Park surrounded by snow capped mountains lies before you to explore. The world acclaimed Routeburn Track is where we take a guided hike, the day provides stunning variation in vegetation, birdlife and topography as it climbs 6.5 kms one way, on a moderate fitness trail through gorges and valleys. Walking through ancient Red Beech forest amidst lush ferns lichens and mosses, we follow the turquoise Routeburn River reaching the Flats hut located within a mountain amphitheatre. Time to rest up, soak in the natural beauty and enjoy your picnic lunch listening for native birdsong.
